Four things you need to know about the Tesla Powerwall Home Battery

Everyone’s buzzing about the Tesla Powerwall Home Battery, and there’s no doubt that its release in Australia marks the beginning of a new and thrilling era for energy usage in this country.

Here are four things you should know about this revolutionary product:

Loads of energy – Each unit will store up to 7kWh of energy, which should be plenty for a regular Australian family home. To give you a sense of how far this will go, here’s a list of some commonly used household items and the energy they usually consume:

Flat screen TV –> 0.1 kWh/hour
Lights (in one room) –> 0.1 kWh/hour
Laptop –> 0.05 kWh/hour
Refrigerator –> 1.6 kWh/day
Washing machine –> 2.3 kWh/one regular load
Clothes dryer –> 3.3 kWh/one regular load

That’s a lot of extra energy to go round!

Absolutely affordable – There are government rebates available to help make your transition to solar even more affordable. Plus, Natural Solar offers a range of finance packages, so you can get the ball rolling on installing a fully integrated solar system and Tesla Powerwall Home Battery straight away.

Total coverage – When you upgrade your house to a solar system that includes the Tesla Powerwall Home Battery, you will start saving money right away because you’ll no longer be forced to rely on using expensive energy from the grid, especially during evening peak hours when power is at a premium. However you won’t have to go completely off the grid if you don’t want to. You can still keep your house connected to the grid, which means you can access traditional energy any time you need a bit extra. Even though you’re unlikely to ever need it, it’s still nice to know you have the back up on hand just in case.

We’ve got you covered – It comes with a fully backed product warranty and a 12 year installation warranty. That’s right. You’ll be covered for 12 YEARS. That’s how confident we are that our product and service is amazing, and we want to give you total peace of mind as you move your home to battery power.

These costs are based on the SA Power network in Adelaide but prices may vary depending on your circumstances. This comparison assumes a general energy usage of 4000kWh/year for a residential customer on Energy Locals Time of Use Tariff – (TOU – Peak, Off-Peak & Solar Sponge).

The reference price is set by the Australian Energy Regulator (AER) for a financial year in relation to electricity supply to residential customers in the distribution region and is based on an assumed annual usage amount. Any difference between the reference price and the unconditional price of a plan is expressed as a percentage more or less than the reference price. The terms of any conditional discounts are shown, along with any further difference between the reference price and the discount applied if a condition is met, expressed as a percentage more or less than the reference price.
